Making the 2 smaller ones not touch each other or one of the small ones not touching with the big one would do it
It was crossposted as part of .ml boycott efforts
Why am I cross-posting .ml content?
I cross-post from .ml to the nearest relevant non-.ml comm to reduce the influence of .ml comms and indirectly, the instance as a whole, to make it an easier decision for other instance admins to defederate because one key reason I identified that admins don’t want to defederate is because .ml still has some very large comms and some niche comms.
Some highlights from the link:
"Don’t worry guys, the Uyghur Genocide was REALLY just birth control! ~dessalines, .ml admin, dev https://lemmy.world/post/30580167
“See! nobody died IN Tiananmen Square, just AROUND it, so it doesn’t count!!” ~ Davel, .ml admin https://lemmy.world/post/30673342
.ml admin, Nutomics continued transphobia https://lemmy.world/post/29222558 The original transphobic Comment from Nutomic: https://lemmy.world/post/18236068
“NK is actually good and anything counter to that is Western propaganda!” ~dessalines, .ml admin, dev https://lemmy.world/post/31595035
General negative sentiment to other instances who haven’t “seen the way” yet ~davel, .ml admin https://lemmy.world/post/27426510
“If you don’t support Russia then you just don’t understand geopolitics” ~dessalines, .ml admin, dev https://lemmy.world/post/27352415
And so so much documentation on clear heavy handed censorship and bias also on the link. So much I can’t even put them all here because this comment would be really long.
I believe the behavior of its admins (the main admins are Lemmy devs) does harm to the overall growth of the Lemmy-verse and maybe even the Thrediverse (since Lemmy kinda kicked off the Thrediverse) because of its association with the devs of Lemmy and their insistence to use .ml as their personal political platform to spread harmful propaganda
On the outside, bringing up Lemmy frequently leads to comments like “Lemmy? Isn’t that the place with a bunch of tankies?” Or “Tried Lemmy, but found it full of pro Russia crap so I left”. The best way forward from that I see is to either widely defederate from .ml like the rest of the Triad, or pressure them to put a fair and unbiased as possible admin team.

181·7 months agoThat’s just what shows because the image host is lemmy․ml, this was part of the .ml boycott cross-posting. Some crossposts might also end up on a different image host but proxied by lemmy․ml, those will also show as lemmy․ml

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What do you think of imitation and lab-grown meats?
1·7 months agoYea I can see that. I personally detest tofu, except when in a dish that’s built around it rather than trying to imitate something else. Like in miso soup it’s delicious!

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's a popular game series that you just can't understand the hype for?
8·7 months agoIndirectly pokemon go for me lol, played it a bit but meh
Well, technically speaking you can talk your way out of it, it’s just that talking your way out of it means speaking one sentence and one sentence only “I’m exercising my right to a lawyer and to remain silent” over and over again
You probably just haven’t seen a specific doc enough (which is a good thing!)
If you’re the type of person to live this kind of meme, you’re probably been seeing a specific doc regularly to work on a chronic condition (once a month maybe even once a week) for months if not years. And the doc referenced in this meme would probably also be a psychiatrist
It’s what @freamon@preferred.social was talking about lol
Though currently with Boost on PieFed it doesn’t search any unfederated-from-my-home-instance comms either and also requires me to enter in the full comm address

82·8 months agolmao what did you just say about Hexbear, lib? 💀 I’ll have you know I’m a tier-5 giga-brained poster with a PhD in Leninist praxis from the University of Posters, and I have 300+ confirmed dunks on Lemmy.ml sockpuppets. I was radicalized in the trenches of r/ChapoTrapHouse, forged in the fires of permabans, and tempered in the meme wars of 2019. You are literally nothing to me but another bootlicker running on 80% State Dept. talking points and 20% soy. I will ratio you so hard your precious little upvote count will never recover. You think you can just roll up in here, talk shit about Hexbear, and not get absolutely obliterated by dialectical praxis in 4K? Think again, bucko. As we speak, my cadre of Discord tankies are screen-capping your posts, cross-referencing them with your cringe comment history, and drafting a 12-point rebuttal with citations from Stalin, Mao, and that one screenshot of Bernie saying ‘chill with the anti-communism.’ The storm that’s coming for you is called material conditions, and guess what? They’re not in your favor. I’ve got Lenin’s collected works and a folder full of spicy memes, and I’m not afraid to deploy both. You’re already owned, kid. You just don’t know it yet. Now go touch grass, comrade, before I drop another 3k-word comment that makes you cry and log off.

Like a meme on Amazon being late yet again (if I were to order from Amazon, not saying I do! 😅) or something. Or a meme on how sometimes I use AI and it’s actually helpful (Again, not saying I do! 😅(I want my threadilawyer)) LMAO

Privacy@programming.dev•Domain names for catch all email aliases
51·8 months ago@spinning_disk_engineer@lemmy.ca
I do exactly this with a cheap entry tier Google Workspace account tied with a domain for email
I forget the exact setting name in the console for this, but it’s a built in feature and works exactly as you’d expect, I can make up whatever I want on the spot before the @ and it’ll deliver to my designated inbox
I’d imagine a similar feature would be available at any business-type email provider
There have been a few places that catch it and “error” the email if I try to use the services name in the email, but it mostly makes it through everything I’ve used it for
It’s an interesting idea, but I don’t think it will work without code changes.
From my understanding, Lemmy federation is very heavily domain/URL dependent and already pretty finicky.
